Why Is Dr. Danielson Right For You?

Dear Friend:

I’m Doctor Guy O. Danielson, III MD and I would like to hear from you. But first, please call me Guy. Has suffering from pain ever prevented you from working or living the kind of life you’d like to live?

Neurosurgeon Dr. Guy Danielson Tyler TXAs a Texas brain surgeon that has successfully treated thousands of patients, I know that leaving harsh pain untreated, getting bad medical advice, or undergoing unnecessary surgery will only add to your health problems. Doing nothing or making poor choices can result in continued pain or even permanent damage. Because of that, it’s important to make an informed and practical decision on whether to let me help you with your condition.

If you decide to see me, I will welcome your questions, thoughts and concerns. Listening carefully helps me to go deep and get down to the core problem that’s causing your pain. That’s important, because it helps me to pinpoint what you need to feel better again. Although I’m a board certified neurosurgeon in Texas (TX) who has performed many difficult operations, surgery may not be my first or only recommendation. I will consult with you and explain all of your options simply and clearly so that we can make an educated decision together about YOUR most effective method of treatment.

From the very beginning of my training, I have believed in and promoted the power of the mind and the power of positive thinking. One of the secrets behind my patients’ success is thinking and them believing that they are going to get well. For example, if yoga and meditation will help ease your pain, I suggest them as options. Also, if you have other ideas about ways to get better, I am always interested in hearing them.

I’m a strong supporter of East Texas and I’m passionate about East Texas residents. In fact, I along with my 2 partners was largely responsible for building the Texas Spine & Joint Hospital, a leading employer in Tyler, TX and one of the top 10 hospitals in the United States. My number one goal is to make my Tyler patients feel at home. Patients always tell me they find me down-to-earth. That’s because my parents always taught me we’re all God’s children, so I’d better learn to treat others as well as I treat myself!

I was one of the first neurosurgeons in East Texas. When I first started doing spine surgery as a neurosurgeon, operations were much simpler. But a few doctors realized we needed better techniques to treat pain and began developing new surgical methods. In 1989, I was one of only 20 or so neurosurgeons in the U.S.A. who did these new, complex surgeries. And I’ve kept up my skills all this time.

You could say I’m a pioneer who loves to try new things.  I always had this natural instinct, which helps develop cutting-edge technologies and treatment programs to help my patients. In fact, right after 9/11, I was the first neurosurgeon in the United States to do the surgery in which I placed a ProDisc, artificial lumbar disc in a patient. The ProDisc is now the most accepted artificial disc in use at this time.  I share these things to not impress you, but simply to give you comfort that I have experience. With all my patients, I want them to feel comfortable and confident with their care and treatment.
